To keep pace with current and future trends Zaldivar Institute is now conducting a training programme in phakic IOL for practicing ophthalmologists. The aim is to train candidates in EVO ICL implantation surgery as well as IOL selection.

Theoretical class

Patient evaluation: In this station you will learn how to communicate efficiently with the patients, how to use the perfect language for them to understand the value proposition of the technology. How to select the patient for EVO ICL, how to transmit the value proposition of this technology.

EVO ICL sizing selection: In this station you will master how to calculate the correct diopter power and sizing of the ICL for your patient.Subjective Refraction, Anterior Chamber Measurement, White to white vs sulcus to sulcus, Endothelial cell count. Other Variables to have into account. EVO ICL contraindications. Which equipment to use for the calculation.

Postoperative vault. Ideal vault, risks of abnormal vault.

Surgical complications management.

Wetlabs: Surgical technique: step by step, in this station you will become an expert on how to load and how to implant an EVO ICL in all types of eyes and patients. Loading, Incisión, Implantation, Explantation, Toricity alignment.

Hands on: Implanting EVO ICL surgical procedure supervised by doctors Zaldivar. Postoperative evaluations with Zaldivar´s Institute medical team.

Implementation and integration to your practice. In this station you will learn all the tools on how to start using this technology and implement its use at all stages of your medical practice.

ICL hands on

Implanting EVO ICL: in this station you will become an expert on how to load and how to implant an EVO ICL in all types of eyes and patients.

In this station you will learn all the tools on how to start using this technology and implement its use at all stages of your clinic or consult.
